Back to MITD Homepage

The Ecole Hôtelière Sir Gaëtan Duval formerly known as the Hotel School of Mauritius, was founded in 1971 as a joint venture between the United Nations Development Programme, International Labour Organization and the French Government to train employees of the Hotel and Tourism industry.

There is a vast array of award courses being dispensed on full time, part time and apprenticeship modes in Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure trades. Besides, approximately 50 short courses are being offered on part time evening mode. EHSGD even offers customized modules to suit the needs of organisations and individuals on request.

The Hotel and Tourism industry is the fastest moving industry in the world where global employment in different sectors like cruiselines, hotels and tourism offices exist.

International affiliations and recognition from institutions like the "Ecole Supérieure de Tourisme et d'Hôtellerie de l'Université d'Angers" and Edexcel offers a possibility of further studies to our students.

Training is carried out in a professional setting where students are exposed to workplace situations and the centre is equipped with Reception Area, Restaurant, Bar, Kitchen, Demo Rooms and a fully equipped Linen & Laundry Room.
